A risk lab that runs in your browser: market, credit, counterparty (XVA), liquidity, funding, model, operational, correlation, interest-rate, currency and basis risk, from VaR backtests to FRTB, CVA, LCR and loss distributions. Every number is tested against an independent reference.
Every day, each model forecasts the loss it should not exceed. Risk Hub then checks the forecast against what really happened, using only the information available at the time.
Historical simulation, Normal, Cornish-Fisher and EWMA are backtested out of sample. Kupiec tests the number of breaches, Christoffersen tests whether they cluster, and the Basel traffic light turns the count into green, yellow or red.
The audit caught a rounding error that made the historical VaR too cautious, a skewness that used the wrong standard deviation, and a crypto volatility annualised on 252 days instead of 365.
The reference script recomputes the distributions, the four VaR methods, the coverage tests, Basel zones, drawdowns, the par-to-zero bootstrap and duration independently, and compares them with the code the site runs. Next to every technical term, a small i explains the formula and how to read the result.
Calculations run in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Market data is stored locally, so using the lab never triggers an API call.
Drop in any CSV, or refresh from public sources with one button when the lab runs locally: ten crypto assets with daily open, high, low and volume from Binance Vision (CC BY-NC-SA, educational, not affiliated with Binance), euro FX from the ECB, the ECB and US Treasury yield curves, the VIX and the Fed overnight rates. Option chains and the DVOL index are never stored: your browser asks Deribit directly.
